  2. http://blogs.fangraphs.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Shea-Langeliers-Talks-Hitting-2025.jpgGeoff Burke-Imagn Images Shea Langeliers has emerged as one of baseball’s best backstops. Building on a 2024 season in which he swatted 29 home runs while logging a 109 wRC+, the 27-year-old slashed .277/.325/.536 with 31 home runs and a 132 wRC+. Moreover, he lowered his strikeout rate from 27.2% to 19.7%, and upped his WAR from 2.0 to 3.9. Those numbers came with the Athletics, who acquired Langeliers in the March 2022 trade that sent Matt Olson to the Braves. Taken ninth overall by Atlanta in 2019 out of Baylor University, Langeliers was called “the consensus best catcher in [that year’s] draft not named Adley Rutschman” by Eric Longenhagen and Kevin Goldstein. When ranking Langeliers fifth in the Braves system in the spring of 2021, our then-prospect analyst duo also opined that “offensive development will dictate his ultimate value, as his defense is big league-ready right now.” As the numbers show, the right-handed hitter’s offense has developed just fine. Langeliers sat down to talk hitting when the A’s visited Boston in September. ——— David Laurila: How have you changed as a hitter over the years? For instance, are your swing and setup any different from when you got to pro ball? Shea Langeliers: “Those haven’t changed a whole lot. What has changed is how I’m mentally ready to hit sooner, throughout the process, if that makes sense. A good way to explain it would be, before release being able to physically pull the trigger on my swing. Being ready to hit earlier in the loading process gives me more time to see the pitch and react to it. It’s also a good mental cue for me. “Another thing is that when I first got to the big leagues, I was trying to hit everything as hard as I can, all the time. I’ve dialed that down a little bit. There is a little more bat control now, so I’m missing fewer pitches.” Laurila: Can you elaborate on being ready to hit earlier? Langeliers: “I guess I would say that I start it to see it. For me, that means starting the loading process earlier. Everything kind of blends together, so if you’re starting it later you rush through your swing. I like the feeling of… I mean, everybody throws hard, obviously, but the slower and earlier I can be, the swing comes out smoother. It’s not as rushed. “I want to be at the height of my leg kick before the pitcher releases the ball. If the pitcher has released the ball and my leg is still going up in my load — if I’m starting a little bit late — my launch is going to rush, and a couple of things can happen. I’m either in and out of the zone, or I dump a little early, back here, so I’m under it.” Laurila: Have you always had the leg kick? Langeliers: “Since I got drafted, yeah. I was a toe tap guy in college, but then got drafted and made a few changes. That’s probably when I made the most changes, when I was coming up with the Braves.” Laurila: Has the height of the leg kick changed? Langeliers: “That’s not something I consciously think about. I kind of let it be what it is, pretty much wherever my body is comfortable doing. And really, it starts with being strong on my back leg. If I’m rushing, I’m going to dive forward. Conversely, if I have a good amount of weight on my back foot, I can hold the leg kick long enough to be able to read the pitch.” Laurila: Approach-wise, are you looking to drive the ball up the middle, or are you more looking to go pull side? Langeliers: “It could be pitcher dependent, or it could be based on how I feel that day, but more often than not I’m thinking left-center. That said, sometimes when you’re doing that you can get rotation-happy and get in and out of the zone a little too quick. Then you need to start thinking center field and be direct through the ball. You’re going to have a few mental cues for that.” Laurila: Are you typically trying to catch the ball out front? Langeliers: “Yes and no. I think I’ve done a better job of being more adjustable this year. Throughout the at-bat, I’ve been able to adjust on the fly better, whether that’s getting to the ball out front or letting it travel a little more. Some of that comes off of the first and second read of the pitch.” Laurila: Are you ever thinking like a catcher when you’re in the box, or do you try to avoid doing that? Langeliers: “I try to keep them completely separate. Trying to think along with what their pitch plan is, or what I would throw myself, just gets me in trouble. I end up overthinking instead of just being up there to hit.” Laurila: You mentioned dialing down your swing. How exactly are you going about that? Langeliers: “How I’ve thought about it is that I’m not toning it down a whole lot. When you’re in a game, the adrenaline hits, so you’re still swinging pretty hard. But, as opposed to going up there thinking, ‘I’m going to swing as hard as I can,’ it’s more about how your body reacts to the pitch. How can I be on time, as we talked about, to hit this ball to left-center.” Laurila: With a fluid and smooth swing… Langeliers: “Exactly.” Laurila: I don’t mean to put words in your mouth… Langeliers: “No, that’s just what it is. If you’re up there swinging as hard as you can, your leg kick could get a little bigger. You could start a little later. You could get herky-jerky. It’s one of those feel things. It’s, ‘How do I pull this with a 75% feel with my swing, like I did in BP?’ Everything starts early and slow, and it goes from there.” Laurila: Any final thoughts on hitting? Langeliers: “Along with getting caught up in trying to hit the ball as hard as I could, I used to be almost obsessive about trying to hit the ball to right-center. When you’re trying to force the ball over there… there are a lot of guys who are really good at doing that, but it doesn’t work for me. Over time, with enough at-bats, you slowly figure out who you are. You figure out your strengths and kind of lean into them.” Laurila: Why had you focused on right-center? Langeliers: “I wanted to be a complete hitter and use the whole field. But with the swing I take, even if I’m a little late on a pitch, that’s when I hit the ball hard the other way, when I’m thinking left-center. When I’m thinking right-center, I tend to drop my barrel a little early, be underneath it, and kind of carve balls over there. That’s obviously not what I want. I want to be behind it, stay through it, and hit balls hard.” —— Earlier “Talks Hitting” interviews can found through these links: Jo Adell, Jeff Albert, Greg Allen, Nolan Arenado, Aaron Bates, Jacob Berry, Alex Bregman, Bo Bichette, Justice Bigbie, Cavan Biggio, Charlie Blackmon, JJ Bleday, Bobby Bradley, Will Brennan, Jay Bruce, Triston Casas, Matt Chapman, Michael Chavis, Garrett Cooper, Gavin Cross, Jacob Cruz, Nelson Cruz, Paul DeJong, Brenton Del Chiaro, Josh Donaldson, Brendan Donovan, Donnie Ecker, Rick Eckstein, Drew Ferguson, Justin Foscue, Michael Fransoso, Ryan Fuller, Joey Gallo, Paul Goldschmidt, Devlin Granberg, Gino Groover, Matt Hague, Andy Haines, Mitch Haniger, Robert Hassell III, Austin Hays, Nico Hoerner, Jackson Holliday, Spencer Horwitz, Rhys Hoskins, Eric Hosmer, Jacob Hurtubise, Tim Hyers, Walker Jenkins, Connor Joe, Jace Jung, Josh Jung, Jimmy Kerr, Heston Kjerstad, Steven Kwan, Trevor Larnach, Doug Latta, Dillon Lawson, Brooks Lee, Royce Lewis, Evan Longoria, Joey Loperfido, Michael Lorenzen, Mark Loretta, Gavin Lux, Dave Magadan, Trey Mancini, Edgar Martinez, Don Mattingly, Marcelo Mayer, Hunter Mense, Owen Miller, Paul Molitor, Colson Montgomery, Tre’ Morgan, Ryan Mountcastle, Cedric Mullins, Daniel Murphy, Lars Nootbaar, Logan O’Hoppe, Vinnie Pasquantino, Graham Pauley, David Peralta, Luke Raley, Julio Rodríguez, Brent Rooker, Thomas Saggese, Anthony Santander, Drew Saylor, Nolan Schanuel, Marcus Semien, Giancarlo Stanton, Spencer Steer, Trevor Story, Fernando Tatis Jr., James Tibbs III, Spencer Torkelson, Mark Trumbo, Brice Turang, Justin Turner, Trea Turner, Josh VanMeter, Robert Van Scoyoc, Chris Valaika, Zac Veen, Alex Verdugo, Mark Vientos, Matt Vierling, Luke Voit, Anthony Volpe, Joey Votto, Christian Walker, Jared Walsh, Jordan Westburg, Jesse Winker, Bobby Witt Jr. Mike Yastrzemski, Nick Yorke, Kevin Youkilis Source View the full article

  4. Photo Credit: The CW (via YouTube) Busy Philipps recently shared her candid views about a plot from her former show, Dawson’s Creek. She did not join the cast of the show until Season 5; however, she recalled an inappropriate relationship from the very first season of Dawson’s Creek between Joshua Jackson’s Pacey and Leann Hunley’s Tamara. Busy Philipps reflects on relationship between Joshua Jackson’s Pacey and his teacher Tamara The Dawson’s Creek alumna opened up about her thoughts on the controversial relationship in the show’s first season. As Pacey (Joshua Jackson) grows increasingly attracted to his 36-year-old teacher, Tamara (Leann Hunley), they become romantically involved. This ultimately leads to him losing his virginity to her. First referring to her character Audrey, and Pacey’s relationship, Busy Philipps told PEOPLE, “They’re not even together.” She added, “He’s going to have a really, insanely inappropriate relationship with a teacher, which by the way, is so wild. And just goes to show you culturally how much we have changed for the better, right?” Philipps joined the show as Audrey Liddell during Season 5 as Pacey’s girlfriend. Very recently, the cast of Dawson’s Creek showed up at the Dawson’s Creek Class Reunion charity event. It also included a reading of the pilot episode by them. During this reading, Philipps played the part of Leann Hunley’s Tamara, the teacher and former love interest of Pacey Witter. The White Chicks actress also shared a glimpse at a joke between her and the series creator, Kevin Williamson. She first mentioned how he didn’t write her character into Dawson’s Creek. “He was already long gone from the show when they went to college, and my character was added,” the 46-year-old explained. Busy Philipps then shared, “After the show, I said, ‘Well, Kevin, I guess you did write a part for me on Dawson’s Creek. You just didn’t know that it would take 20 years for me to be the right age to play it,'” as she referred to playing Tamara at the event. Previously, Joshua Jackson also reflected on his character Pacey’s relationship with Tamara on Dawson’s Creek. He told Business Insider, “I think it is real for a younger person to have sexual desires for an older person. But I think the onus remains upon the older person to be the adult and recognize that that’s inappropriate.” Jackson further emphasized that it is important to depict human mistakes through on-screen storylines. Additionally, he clarified that the relationship wasn’t depicted as “a beautiful or romantic thing.” The post Dawson’s Creek’s Busy Philipps Recalls Pacey’s ‘Insanely Inappropriate’ Relationship appeared first on ComingSoon.net - Movie Trailers, TV & Streaming News, and More. 9. Photo Credit: Lionsgate Films / Roadside Attractions / LD Entertainment From the start of her career as a singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez has always had a soft spot for musicals and the magic of Broadway. Now that she’s debuting in musical cinema with Kiss of the Spider Woman, she got candid about why a Broadway run might remain out of reach for now. Jennifer Lopez might never do a Broadway musical, as it requires ‘bigger commitment’ The Atlas star recently admitted that she has always dreamed of doing Broadway. However, her jam-packed schedule with movies and music hasn’t really given her the time. During a recent conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Jennifer Lopez shared, “I’ve always thought about it. I’ve always had a fantasy of doing Broadway, but my life has always been the music and the movies, so there’s never been a time.” Lopez further elaborated on the prospect of doing multiple performances a week. She added, “It would be a nice thing to slow down and just do one thing for a period of time. But it’s a bigger commitment. And I don’t know if I could do eight shows a week.” Nevertheless, the “Let’s Get Loud” hitmaker is still not closing the door on Broadway. She said, “At the right time with the right people and the right person, who knows? We’ll see what comes to fruition when that time comes. But I do think Broadway is in my future.” Besides that, Jennifer Lopez still dreams about bringing back roles she once had her eye on. One of the Grammy nominee’s favorites is Bye Bye Birdie. Interestingly, it was once reportedly being adapted as a live TV production, with her essaying Rosie. Unfortunately, that project fell through, but Lopez is still keen to be a part of the musical. “I would die to do Bye Bye Birdie. It went away. That was going to be more of a movie, but it would be nice to revive that on Broadway, too,” the 56-year-old stated. Currently, Jennifer Lopez is putting everything she’s got into Kiss of the Spider Woman, where she plays two roles. She even made sure she perfected the uncut dance scenes. Moreover, the Bill Condon movie helped her reconnect with her roots in jazz, ballet, and Broadway dance, things she shared she learned “when she was a very little girl.” Featuring Jennifer Lopez alongside Diego Luna and Tonatiuh, Kiss of the Spider Woman arrived in US theaters on October 10, 2025. Pay to play games. Scammy apps and websites. And in his new book, he expands the idea into the material world If I may be so bold, it is a term that is extraordinarily useful to describe our political and cultural moment as well. Even if you don’t read the book, this NYT profile is worth reading. A Guardian and a Thief is Becoming the It Book of the Fall I thought it might be the new Lockwood. Or the new Flournoy. Or the new Desai. But it is looking like Megan Majumdar’s A Guardian and a Thief has the inside track on being the book of the fall. An Oprah pick and finalist spots for the National Book Award and Kirkus Prizes are about as much as you can ask of a literary title. It was a late pick-up by one Rebecca Schinsky in our 2025 Fantasy Book League and could well be the difference. I am happy for everyone involved. No for real, I am. At least I included it in our It Books of October showdown. 14. Credits: 20th Century Films According to one of the movie’s biggest stars, James Cameron might helm a documentary about the making of Avatar before traveling back to Pandora for Avatar 4. Zoe Saldaña explains why an Avatar documentary would be important Zoe Saldaña is set to reprise her role of Neytiri in the third Avatar movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash. Cameron plans to make an Avatar 4 and 5 next. However, the Oscar winner might make another movie about the Avatar universe before Avatar 4 gets made. In an interview with Beyond Noise, Saldaña revealed that Cameron is “considering a documentary about the making of Avatar.” Saldaña is pushing for the documentary, as it would give her a chance to shine a light on performance capture and how it has become an “empowering form of acting.” “It gives us the credit, the ability to own 100 percent of our performance on screen,” Saldaña explained. “With animation, you might go into the studio for [a few] sessions; that’s as much as they’ll need you for the whole movie. You go into a studio, however you’re dressed, and you lend your voice, right? Performance capture means that Avatar wouldn’t exist if Sigourney Weaver, Sam Worthington, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, myself, and the entire cast didn’t get up and put those dots on our faces. “We put on that little unitard with all those dots on it, and step into a volume — that’s what we call the set — that’s rigged on the ceiling, with all these cameras in measured positions. They’re all pointing into this space that finds us, and feeds that information into the system that is Pandora.” The Avatar movies are an enormous undertaking for Saldaña and the rest of the cast. To play Neytiri, Saldaña had to train in archery, martial arts, free diving, and scuba diving. Saldaña also had to learn how to walk like an “extraterrestrial human species.” Fans can see Saldaña’s hard work come to fruition in Avatar: Fire and Ash, in theaters on December 19, 2025. Avatar 4 is scheduled for release on December 21, 2029, with Avatar 5 following two years later on December 19, 2031. Originally reported by Dan Girolamo on SuperHeroHype. 15. The Twins have sought permission from the Red Sox to interview bench coach Ramón Vázquez in their managerial search, reports Jon Heyman of The New York Post. It’s standard practice for clubs to allow coaches or front office personnel to interview for potential promotions, so it’d be a shock if the Red Sox didn’t grant that request. Vázquez, 49, would become the first known candidate to interview for the Minnesota position. A native of Puerto Rico, he played parts of nine MLB seasons across six clubs as a utility infielder during the 2000s. He has spent over a decade in the coaching ranks since ending his playing career. Vázquez worked as a minor league coach in the Houston system and spent a season on the Padres’ MLB staff before joining Alex Cora in Boston for the 2018 season. The Sox promoted him to bench coach three years ago. Aside from one game filling in while Cora was attending his daughter’s graduation, Vázquez has no MLB managerial experience. He has managed in the Puerto Rican winter league and managed one season in A-ball while coming up through the Houston system. This would be his first publicly reported interview for an MLB managerial job. The Twins are one of eight teams with a vacancy after firing Rocco Baldelli at season’s end. The team never really recovered from their late-season collapse in 2024, when they squandered a playoff berth despite peaking at 17 games above .500 in the middle of August. They had a 13-game winning streak early this past season but were otherwise a well below-average team. After injuries decimated the starting rotation in June, they embarked on a massive deadline sell-off that sent Carlos Correa back to Houston for salary relief. The deadline also left Baldelli and his staff with a bullpen consisting mostly of waiver pickups and journeymen. The Twins went 19-35 in the final two months and finished with a 70-92 record that had them as the second-worst team in the American League. Only the White Sox, who lost over 100 games for a third straight year, kept Minnesota from the bottom of the AL. An incoming manager seems likely to step into a rebuild. The Pohlad family had considered selling the franchise but reversed course in August, instead bringing on minority investors to pay down significant debt which the team had reportedly accrued. Their season-ending payroll has dropped in consecutive seasons (per Cot’s Baseball Contracts) following the collapse of their local broadcast contract. They have a handful of question marks at the bottom of the lineup and arguably MLB’s worst bullpen. That won’t all be fixed in one offseason, meaning they should be active sellers this winter and at next summer’s deadline. Ryan Jeffers is headed into his final season of arbitration control. Joe Ryan is down to two arbitration years, while Pablo López is signed for two more seasons at $21.75MM annually. They could listen on role players like Trevor Larnach and Matt Wallner as well. Minnesota added upper level starting pitchers (e.g. Mick Abel, Taj Bradley) in a couple of their trades last summer, so perhaps there’s a path back to contention in 2027, but they’re facing an uphill battle to compete next year. 16. In what intellectual freedom advocates have seen coming for months, a Texas school district has just shut down access to all secondary school libraries for students due to the regulations of the state’s Senate Bill 13. New Braunfels Independent School District (NBISD) voted yesterday, Monday, October 13, to shut down all but elementary school libraries in the district in order to ensure their collections are compliant with the law. Senate Bill 13 (SB 13) requires that school libraries remain free of “harmful material,” “indecent content,” and “profane content.” All three of these designations lack any legal definition, opening wide the door for interpretation and undermining the federal standard of the Miller Test in determining obscenity. Laws like SB 13 have been appearing in state legislature nationwide, with the intention to dismantle shared understanding of obscenity in favor of partisan-flavored interpretation of what does and does not constitute “inappropriate” material in books. SB 13 goes further than requiring schools remove such materials. It gives the power of selecting what materials may be added to public school libraries to either the district’s board of trustees or to parent-led committees called School Library Advisory Councils (SLACs). Districts can choose which method they’ll take to oversee the collection, though local parents can petition districts who don’t elect to go with the SLAC options to do just that. New Braunfels ISD has elected to keep decision making with the school board. This week’s announcement that they are shutting down access to all middle and high school libraries comes as they seek to weed out any materials that may be outside the approved topics of SB 13. Per the school’s announcement: NBISD offers no framework for how they’ll be completing this comprehensive review of over 50,000 books across district secondary schools. The district also offers no timeline for when students will have access to their own school libraries–facilities that their family tax dollars go to operate. NBISD’s decision to shut down the libraries in order to complete a review of materials based on vague language showcases how quickly and easily public schools are and will continue to cower to far right politics infiltrating communities throughout Texas. The school already has a robust collection policy outlining the types of materials they acquire and where and how they remove materials. SB 13 takes away the control that this district has over its available materials. The bill purposefully introduces lies about the kinds of materials available in school libraries. As with any other public school library, there is no such thing as “harmful material” in the collection. “Harmful material” is a subjective term, alongside “indecent” and “profane” content. They’re meaningless and serve only to create panic and discord in school districts, while costing them untold amounts of taxpayer money through charades like these wide-scale reviews. In an update about SB 13’s impact on NBISD, the district outlined how they were handling implementation in September. This was before the decision for a total shut down. Among the district’s plans: Removal of any books deemed in violation of SB 13, pending further review. This is a book ban, whether or not the book ultimately gets removed from the district. Again, there are no standard definitions of any of the terms in SB 13. It’s open to political interpretation and creates the type of chilling effect where any book that could possibly be interpreted as against the law will simply disappear. Allowing parents to see every book their child has borrowed from the library. This wild infringement on student rights makes them less likely to borrow materials, especially of those materials are of a personal or sensitive nature–and of course, that surveillance is the entire point. It’s intended to be punitive and encourage students to simply not borrow materials from the library. Requiring all book vendors to be in compliance with SB 13. This is one of the sticking points with previously-passed legislation in Texas called The READER Act, that still remains on pause following a lawsuit against its legality. How and where vendors are to be in compliance with vague language and no method of interpreting what materials are or are not appropriate remains to be seen (and that’s, of course, the point). Deciding how future book purchases will be reviewed by the school board. Of course, elected school board officials work to keep their positions, meaning that their voting record on books allowed into school collections will either help them keep or lose their positions. That doesn’t start to touch on the fact that most school board members have zero experience working in, operating, or curating the materials in a library. This is intended to further deprofessionalize librarianship. In Texas, school librarians are not only certified as librarians. They’re also certified educators with classroom experience. This is not the first, nor will it be the last, broad and overreaching methods by which public institutions in Texas respond to this bill and its sister bill, Senate Bill 12. Just two weeks ago, Leander Independent School District’s administrators asked educators to 40 books–as identified through Artificial Intelligence–in compliance with that law. Among the titles were classics like To Kill a Mockingbird. All but four of those titles have been returned to shelves as of writing. SB 13 is a bill that removes local control from public schools across the state of Texas and puts the power of what books are or are not available to students into the hands of politicians. The bill tells educators and librarians that they’re unable to do their jobs correctly, despite being trained, educated, and experienced in the field. As it’s playing out in New Braunfels right now is what we’ll begin to see pop up in more schools in Texas: outright removal of access to libraries for students, period. The next meeting of the New Braunfels school board is November 10. Information about that meeting is available on their website, but readers are encouraged to begin drafting letters to the board now addressing its decision to shutter access to secondary school libraries in order to conduct large-scale book banning. This is also the time to hold the state’s elected officials accountable. SB 13 was cosponsored entirely by republican legislators, all of whom are listed here. Texas residents are urged to not only tell those representatives what this bill is doing but to reiterate that those legislators work for the people and that they know this law works in conjunction with SB 12 to rid public schools of materials their party disagrees with. This isn’t about protection. It’s about eradication. Something else advocates for the right to read can do if they’re local is keep an eye on the library’s catalog. What books are going to disappear from the collection over the next several weeks quietly? One way to do this is to consider pulling together some of the most commonly banned books over the last year and seeing if they’re currently in secondary library collections at NBISD and monitoring their status through the closure of those libraries. Another meaningful action? Write letters in support of the school’s libraries and library workers to those individuals and to the board itself. SB 13 is intended to make library workers feel like criminals and intended to further deprofessionalize the field. 21. Here are three things for MLBTR readers to keep an eye on throughout the day today: 1. NLCS Game 2: The Dodgers took home a hard-fought victory in Game 1 of the NLCS yesterday when Blake Treinen struck out Brice Turang with the bases loaded to preserve a one-run lead in the ninth inning. Now, the Brewers will be looking to avoid falling into an 0-2 hole before they head to L.A. for Game 3, while the Dodgers will try to keep the good times rolling and build on their lead. The game is scheduled for 7:08pm local time, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto (2.49 ERA) on the bump opposite Freddy Peralta (2.70 ERA). Yamamoto dominated the Reds in the Wild Card series with two runs (zero earned) and nine strikeouts across 6 2/3 innings of work, but he didn’t fare quite as well against the Phillies in the NLDS as he surrendered three runs in four innings of work. As for Peralta, he made two starts against the Cubs in the NLDS where he allowed five runs in 9 2/3 innings of work. While he struck out 15 batters, he also allowed three home runs. 2. Another manager job opens up: Yesterday, Padres skipper Mike Shildt announced his decision to step down from the manager’s chair. That creates yet another opening in the dugout for an MLB club, and San Diego will now join the Giants, Braves, Orioles, Rockies, Angels, Twins, and Nationals in the hunt for a new manager. Cubs bench coach Ryan Flaherty has already emerged as a candidate in San Diego, and he’s getting a look in Baltimore, too. He’s surely far from the only candidate for either role, however, and with so many vacancies around the game it may take a little bit longer than usual for teams to find the right fit on the market. 3. Blue Jays in a bind: After a dominant performance against the Yankees in the ALDS, the Blue Jays find themselves in a bind. Right-hander Trey Yesavage was unable to replicate his previous dominance and surrendered five runs in four innings of work to take the loss in what ultimately became a 10-3 win for Seattle. That leaves Toronto down two games as they head to the west coast for the next three games of the series. With the Mariners now enjoying a one-game cushion as they look to clinch a trip to the World Series at home, the Blue Jays will be looking for their offense to wake up and start scoring runs like they did against New York if they’re going to represent Canada in the World Series for the first time since 1993. The ALCS has no game today as the two teams travel to Seattle. Will the day off be enough for the Jays to bounce back? View the full article

  24. Image credit: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Just days after Tron: Ares’ release, director Joachim Rønning is already teasing what could come next for the franchise. In a recent interview, Rønning explained the vision behind the film’s post-credits scene. However, as of now, there is no confirmation that Tron 4 has been greenlit yet. Joachim Rønning says ‘bringing back Sark’ in Tron: Ares ending is a hint for ‘something to come’ Director Joachim Rønning has shared new details about the ending of Tron: Ares. Speaking to GamesRadar+, Rønning explained that the film’s final scene, which brings back the iconic villain Sark, was designed to hint at a potential continuation of the story. He said, “To be able to shoot the scene [where we] bring back Sark… everybody at Industrial Light & Magic was like, ‘Oh my God!’” Rønning called the visual world of the 1982 original “the holy grail of VFX,” adding that it was not eligible for a VFX Oscar because the Academy “felt it was cheating at the time.” The director then teased that though Sark’s return is brief, it might lead to something bigger. He explained, “And then the other thing was bringing back Sark, even though it’s at the very end, it’s just like hinting [at] something to come.” Rønning also suggested that Evan Peters’ character, Julian Dillinger, could be important to continue the storyline. “I think that would be great. I think Julian Dillinger [Evan Peters] – it’s a good starting point for that continuation of that character,” he said. The director didn’t confirm whether Tron 4 is already in the works, and there’s been no official word from Disney on Tron 4. Set decades after Tron: Legacy, Tron: Ares continues the iconic sci-fi saga. The movie’s cast includes Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, and Hasan Minhaj, among others. Written by Jesse Wigutow, the film was released in theaters worldwide on October 10. Originally reported by Disheeta Maheshwari on SuperHeroHype.
